HBO Canada's "Living In Your Car", on which client IVO CANELAS is a series lead, has been nominated for the Rose d'Or Award for Best Drama/Mini-Series Award at the Global Television Festival in Lucerne, Switzerland. Last year, the Portuguese series "Conexao", in which Ivo is also a lead, was nominated for the same award at the Monaco Television Festival.

International casting director LUCI LENOX teams with Spanish director Rodrigo Cortes on his new horror film "Buried", which will world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September and then go on to screen at San Sebastian.

After nearly a decade of being part of the "Potter Family", British actor Chris Rankin, who plays 'Percy Weasley' in the Harry Potter films, shot his last scene in the final installment of the franchise this week. Chris reprises his role as Ron's eldest brother, who goes to the Dark side...magic happens (...but of course. It's "Harry Potter"). 

From Chris: 

"Imagine what it's like knowing that 10 after 10 years of magic and wand waving in the worlds biggest movie franchise ever, that you'll be hanging up your robes and saying goodbye to the old place... But then I think how lucky I've been to have that chance, and what fantastic opportunities it has given me for the future. I want to thank Jo [J.K. Rowling] for writing such incredible books and Steve Kloves for turning those books into magical screenplays. The producers and Warner Bros. for recognizing the concept, believing in it and working so hard to make each of the films so successful (even the ones I am not in!) and [casting directors] Jane Jenkins and Janet Hirschenson, and Chris Columbus [director of 1st Potter film] for giving me the part and launching me on such an exciting, fun ride and the best learning experience a young actor could dream of."
 

Book #7 has been split into two films, Part 1 and Part 2.  Warner Bros. has set Part 1 of "HP and the Deathly Hallows" for a November worldwide release.

Portugal's 2X Globo de Ouro winner for Best Actor has lots going on: He is currently filming the lead in Lionel Vieira's "A Grande Jogada", his first English language role in a TV series, "Living In Your Car" premieres May 7 on HBO Canada and Ivo will next be seen starring iin "Quinze Ponce Na Alma" (photo still pictured here).

A new year and new and exciting stuff:

Portugal's 2007 and 2008 Best Actor winner and 2009 Best Actor nominee IVO CANELAS has wrapped his first English language series lead in "Living In Your Car".  His English language pic "El Arte de Roubar"  opened the 2009 Valencia Film Festival (for which he won Best Actor in September at Cine Brasil Festival in Rio) . He will next be seen in Portuguese feature "A Bela a o Papparazzo" and Portuguese mini-series "Coñexao".

British actor CHRIS RANKIN is currently filming his role of Percy Weasley in the next installments of Warner Bros. "Harry Potter" franchise.

Italian actress SYLVIA DE FANTI ("Empire") is currently touring Italy with acclaimed director Gabriele Lavia in "Molto Rumore Per Nulla" (Much Ado About Nothing).  She will next be seen Italo/Austrian feature "Mendel" and in Carlos Saura's "Io Don Giovanni".

Chinese/American voice actress STEPHANIE SHEH is now a series regular on two new animated television series (confidentiality agreements on both until each respective show makes their own announcements) and also recurs on 3 other U.S. television animated series (with worldwide licenses): "Bleach", "Naruto", "Stitch".  Her voice can be heard on recent vidgames: "Resident Evil 5", "Terminator 4", "Infamous Pedestrians" (Sony) "Littlest Pet Shop" (EA), "Bioshock 2" (2K Games), "Aion" (NC Soft) and "Mad World" (Sega).  

MARCO KHAN ("Iron Man", "10,000BC", "2012") just wrapped indie film "Sons of an Afghan Farmer".

Canadian teen Cheyenne Freitas finished filming the lead in "The Psychic's Daughter" (Canada).
